Outlook 2000 Mail Account Setup

Double Diamond Technologies, mail account setup instructions for Outlook 2000. Screens may vary slightly for other Outlook and Outlook Express versions.
- Open Outlook 2000.
- Under “Tools” on the main menu, click on “Accounts…” (“Internet Accounts “window will pop up.)
- In the “Internet Accounts” window, click on the “Add “ button and then on “Mail…” from the menu to create a new mail account. (“Internet Connection Wizard” window will pop up)
- In the “Internet Connection Wizard” window, enter the name you want to use to send mail in the “Display name:” field. Click on the “Next >” button.
- Enter the complete email address in the “Email address:” field. Click on the “Next >” button.
- In the incoming mail server drop down box, select “POP3”. (“My incoming mail server is a [POP3] server.”) In the fields “Incoming mail [POP 3 or IMAP] server:” and “Outgoing mail [SMTP] sever:” enter server names as: mail.mywebaddress.com (mywebaddress.com being your web address without the “http://www.”) Click on the “Next >” button.
- In the “Account name:” field, enter the complete email address. Enter the email account password in the “Password:“ field. Check the “Remember password” box. Click on the “Next >” button.
- Select the method used to connect to the Internet. Click on the “Next >” button.
- Click on the “Finish” button.
- Under “Tools” on the main menu, click on “Accounts…” (“Internet Accounts “window will pop up.)
- In the “Internet Accounts” window, select the new mail account that was just created. Click on the “Properties” button. (“Properties“ window will pop up.)
- In the “Properties” window, in the “Mail Account” field, enter a useful name for the account. Fill in the “Name:” and “Organization:” fields as desired. In the “Email address:” and “Reply address:” fields enter the complete email address. Check the box labeled as “Include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing”
- Click on the “Servers” tab. Verify that “Server Information” and “Incoming Mail Server” information is correct. Check the box “My server requires authentication.” Click on the “OK” button. Setup is complete.
